About the Author

China Development Bank is a financial institution in China under the direct jurisdiction of the State Council. As one of the three policy banks of the PRC, it is primarily responsible for raising funding for large infrastructure projects, including most of the funding for the Three Gorges Dam. The bank is the second-biggest bond issuer in China, accounting for about a quarter of the country’s yuan bonds, and the biggest foreign-currency lender.

Renmin University of China is one of the most prestigious universities in China, with a distinct focus on social sciences. The University is home to many outstanding scholars in law, economics, journalism, etc. China Development Bank and the Renmin University of China jointly set up the Research Team on the Developmental Finance of China in August 2004.
